Nepal Earthquake 2015, Android app launched
Nepal Earthquake 2015 has been introduced in Google Play for Android device users.
Following the devastation of the earthquake of 6.8 and 7.8 Richter Scale, this app was developed and intended to be run by volunteers themselves to help the needy in the disaster.
People with a need of help can submit a report at ‘http://help.sparrowsms.com’, which is visible both in sparrow sms Nepal Quake relief page and the android app. Also the users of the app can add the information in http://gurkhatech.com/earthquakeapp too to be visible for the app users. Information of hospitals, police, news agencies, water providers, shelter providers, blood donors, food providers, free house and structure assessment experts, clothes providers, medicine providers, volunteers and donation links are provided via the app. Tips to minimize the after effects of earthquake, list of missing people and first aid tips are also provided in the app.
The feeds from USGS has been integrated to the app so that people get official reports of the earthquake and the feeds from http://world-earthquakes.com/ has also been integrated to possibly forecast the upcoming earthquake based on seismic activities for the next 48 hours.
Toyanath Panchanga app and sparrow sms have collaborated to develop ‘Nepal Earthquake 2015’ android application.
